SPOT on Demark’s beautiful collaboration with Montreux Jazz Festival has entered its third year. The first SPOT-event at the legendary Swiss festival took place in 2009 in a fully packed Montreux Jazz Café - that boasts a capacity of 1000 - with the performances of electropop starlet As In RebekkaMaria and sunshine-pop extravaganza The Asteroids Galaxy Tour. In 2010 the tradition was bolstered with indie rockers Kiss Kiss Kiss, melodic Ginger Ninja and alt country folksters Cody; and yielded great results - including a release of Ginger Ninja’s debut album by Sony Music Switzerland. Every year the showcasing acts are selected by a jury of Swiss media that attend SPOT Festival – including 20 Minuten, Toxic FM, Rockstar Magazine and Lautstark - plus the Montreux Jazz Festival itself. In the framework of the interactive SPOT platform a networking event is held prior to the evening shows in order to strengthen the dialogue between the Swiss and Danish industries. This year prime indie comebacks Figurines, disco-pop extravaganza Vinnie Who and must-see electro-punks of the moment Reptile & Retard will be performing as part of the annual SPOT night. In addition to the aforementioned artists another three popular Danish acts are on the bill of Montreux Jazz Festival, Oh Land, Kasper Bjørke, and Agnes Obel.
